Our new training centre at Selgars Mill supports communities to create new responses to a range of crises, from the decline of the high street to the impacts of climate change, from youth unemployment to food insecurity. Our programmes are developed with a site-wide approach, using as much of the buildings and surroundings to create valuable educational and cultural experiences.

Selgars Mill

Selgars Mill is a new centre for the democratic economy, climate emergency and social change, a place for movement building, empowering communities and individuals with the practical and strategic tools they need to create change. Selgars Mill is a beautiful converted 19th Century mill house with cottages, set in eight acres of secluded grounds in the Culm valley in Mid Devon. The site has been curated to allow for focussed learning spaces and comfortable and inspiring conversational spaces, and for work spaces to turn those inspired conversations into functioning community businesses and society-altering campaigns.

Selgars Mill is 2.5 miles from Tiverton Parkway train station in Mid-Devon. From there you can book a taxi transfer (5-10 mins) or use the Number 3 National Cycle Network (15-20 minutes).

By train, Selgars Mill is 14 minutes from Exeter, 45 minutes from Bristol, 1.50 hours from London Paddington, and 2.15 hours from Birmingham New Street, and 3.45 hours from Manchester Piccadilly.
