Social clubs have long played a crucial role in British comedy. They’re the kinds of rooms where comedians can take risks, work out new material, and learn how jokes land with real audiences. Outside the commercial circuit, these spaces have quietly supported the development of live comedy for decades, and continue to do so in clubs all over the country.

As part of a reward from our 21st Century Social Clubs crowdfunding campaign at the end of last year, we’re delighted to confirm a brilliant line-up for our Comedy Night for 21st Century Social Clubs at The Mildmay Club on 19th March 2026.

Rachel Porter
A rising star of the UK comedy scene. A finalist in So You Think You’re Funny? at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025, she’s also one fifth of the iconic, award-losing alt-theatre troupe Figs in Wigs. Rachel is the fourth best thing to come out of Norwich, after Alan Partridge, Delia Smith and Colman’s Mustard.

Imran Yusuf
A skilful raconteur with a warm, endearing style, Imran Yusuf weaves socio-political satire with heartfelt introspection. Born in Mombasa, Kenya, and now a regular on the London circuit, he has performed around the world and amassed over 7 million YouTube views. His debut Edinburgh show earned a five-star review on its opening day and a Best Newcomer nomination in 2010.

Caroline McEvoy
Originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland, Caroline McEvoy is now based in London and has been a finalist or semi-finalist in numerous major comedy competitions. She is the founder and host of Comedy Bandits, a three-time Chortle Award-winning night, and a Soho Theatre Labs graduate. Her debut hour Train Man received critical acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 and was listed by The Irish Times as one of the top shows to see at Dublin Fringe.

Stewart Lee
One of Britain’s most influential and innovative comedians, Stewart Lee is known for his cerebral, meta-comedic style, long-form repetition, and deadpan delivery. Active since 1989, his work has shaped generations of stand-up comedians and continues to challenge what comedy can be.
